MUSIC HEARS YOU

MUSIC WITH MEANING, PRESENCE AND HEART

Music Hears You is the heart of Paul Denegri’s work: a deeply human project built around the power of live music to comfort, connect, uplift and be present when words are not enough.

Led by Paul Denegri HonARAM FTCL LTCL, Music Hears You brings together his lifelong experience as a professional musician, conductor, composer, educator and performer with his passion for using music in a meaningful, personal and compassionate way.

For Paul, music is not simply performance. It is communication. It is memory. It is dignity. It is a hand held through sound.

Bringing live music to those who need it most

Through Music Hears You, Paul is committed to bringing the warmth and comfort of live music to people in care homes, hospices and community care settings.

Much of this work is centred around those who may no longer be able to attend concerts, take part in public music-making, or leave their rooms. Paul brings music directly to them — sometimes at the bedside — creating intimate moments of calm, recognition, joy and peace.

This work is especially meaningful for people living with dementia, those approaching the end of life, and individuals who may feel isolated, forgotten or disconnected from the world around them.

Why music matters

Music has a rare ability to reach people beyond conversation. A familiar melody can unlock memory. A gentle performance can soothe anxiety. A live musician in the room can change the atmosphere completely.

Music Hears You is built on the belief that everyone deserves access to the emotional and human benefits of music, regardless of age, health, mobility or circumstance.

Whether performed in a shared lounge, a quiet bedroom, a care setting or a community event, Paul’s music is delivered with sensitivity, respect and emotional understanding.

Music in care homes and hospices

Paul offers live music sessions for care homes, hospices and community care environments. These sessions can be adapted to suit the setting, residents and individual needs.

Sessions may include:

* Gentle live trumpet, cornet or instrumental music
* Familiar melodies and reflective pieces
* Music for dementia care and memory connection
* Bedside music for residents unable to leave their rooms
* Group performances for care home lounges and communal areas
* Special occasion performances
* End-of-life music offered with sensitivity and care
* Bespoke music moments for families, residents and care teams

Every session is approached with warmth, patience and respect. The music is never forced or over-performed. It is shaped around the people in the room.

A personal approach

Music Hears You is not a standard concert service. It is personal, responsive and human.

Paul understands that care environments require sensitivity. Some residents may want to sing along. Others may simply listen. Some may respond visibly, while others may experience the music quietly.

The aim is not to impress. The aim is to connect.

Original songs and meaningful music projects

Alongside his live music work, Paul has written original songs and music for theatre, youth productions and awareness projects.

His song I See You was written to support awareness of care work and the lives of residents in care homes, particularly those living with dementia or nearing the end of life.

This reflects the wider mission behind Music Hears You: to recognise people, honour their stories and use music as a way of saying, “you are seen, you are heard, and you matter.”
